Na primeira metade do século 14, Florença foi posicionada como um centro florescente da produção artística, especialmente na pintura e manuscritos iluminados  Florença no alvorecer do Renascimento: Pinturas e Iluminuras, 1300-1350, é uma exposição com grandes empréstimos internacionais e apresenta os mais proeminentes artistas florentinos da época  e o maior agrupamento de pinturas do mestre florentino Giotto di Bondone já exibida na América do Norte.

In the first half of the 14th century, Florence was positioned as a flourishing center of artistic production, especially in painting and manuscript illumination. Florence at the Dawn of the Renaissance: Painting and Illumination, 1300-1350, a major international loan exhibition, presents the most prominent Florentine artists of this era, and features the largest grouping of paintings by Florentine master Giotto di Bondone exhibited in North America.

A exposição centra-se em artistas que trabalhavam como pintores do painel e iluminadores manuscrito, examinando esses meios lado a lado, oferecendo um novo olhar sobre a comunidade artística, que deu origem ao renascimento italiano.

The exhibition focuses on artists who worked as panel painters and manuscript illuminators, examining these media side by side, offering a fresh look at the artistic community that gave rise to the Italian Renaissance.

Paul Getty Museum com Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), esta exposição grande empréstimo internacional apresenta mais de 90 obras de arte, incluindo pinturas, manuscritos iluminados, e vitrais e apresenta novas descobertas sobre técnicas de artistas e práticas de oficina com base em pesquisas de conservação e análise científica.

Organized by J. Paul Getty Museum with Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), this major international loan exhibition features more than 90 works of art, including paintings, illuminated manuscripts, and stained glass and presents new findings about artists’ techniques and workshop practices based on conservation research and scientific analysis.

Artists in the exhibition include Giotto di Bondone (about 1267-1337), Taddeo Gaddi (about 1300-1366), Pacino di Bonaguida (active about 1303-about 1347), Bernardo Daddi (active about 1312-1348), the Master of the Dominican Effigies (active about 1325-1355), and the Master of the Codex of Saint George (active about 1315-about 1335), among others. The exhibition includes seven works by Giotto, the largest grouping of his paintings ever exhibited in North America.

Além de uma grande seleção de pinturas de Giotto, Florença no alvorecer da Renascença apresenta a comissão mais importante manuscrito iluminado a partir da primeira metade do século 14, o Laudario de Sant'Agnese.

In addition to a large selection of paintings by Giotto, Florence at the Dawn of the Renaissance presents the most important illuminated manuscript commission from the first half of the 14th century, the Laudario of Sant’Agnese. 




Iluminado por Pacino di Bonaguida eo Mestre do Efígies Dominicana, esta. Lindamente executado e projetado manuscrito iluminado foi desmontado e disperso em algum momento do século 19 As 24 folhas que sobrevivem apresentam uma variedade de imagens celebrando festas cristãs. Illuminated by Pacino di Bonaguida and the Master of the Dominican Effigies, this beautifully executed and designed illuminated manuscript was dismantled and dispersed sometime in the 19th century. The 24 leaves that survive exhibit a variety of imagery celebrating Christian feasts. This exhibition reunites nearly all surviving leaves for the first time.
